Car-free holidays: experiencing the mountains sustainably, starting on foot from our Chalet

Summer in the mountains is the perfect time to slow down and rediscover the pleasure of simple things: a walk in the greenery, a bike ride along the Sarca River, a trail leading to a mountain hut in the Dolomites. At Casa al Campo, all of this is possible without ever needing a car.
The chalet can accommodate up to 21 people, with 8 bedrooms each with its own private bathroom and two additional service bathrooms on the ground floor, spread across multiple levels, allowing every guest to enjoy their own privacy and comfort.
The atmosphere is warm and thoughtfully designed, with a spacious living area, fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and a beautiful outdoor space with a garden and barbecue, perfect for summer days. Families with children will find a dedicated play area, while groups can enjoy long convivial dinners, perhaps with an outdoor barbecue or with products bought at local markets.

Leave the car behind, breathe freely

Once arrived, guests can safely leave their car in the property’s free parking area and enjoy a holiday centred on gentle mobility. From Casa al Campo, you can set off on foot or by bike directly from here, surrounded by nature and free from stress or traffic, thanks to its location right next to the cycle path — perfect for those who love running, walking or cycling.

Trails for everyone: from meadows to mountain huts

For those who love walking, the options are endless. Just a few steps from the property, you’ll find trails suitable both for families with children and for more experienced hikers. Some of the most popular destinations include:

  • Rifugio Casinei – perfect for a first real hike at altitude.
  • Rifugio Tuckett and Brentei – for those who want to climb a little higher and get closer to the heart of the Brenta Dolomites. (reachable by starting comfortably on foot or with a short shuttle ride to Vallesinella, without needing to move the car)
  • Val Genova – one of the most enchanting valleys, rich in waterfalls, with panoramic trails perfect for a full day immersed in nature.
  • Surroundings of Pinzolo – trails of varying difficulty that let you explore woods, alpine pastures and small villages, ideal for half-day hikes or longer outings.

By bike through Val Rendena

For those who prefer two wheels, the Val Rendena cycle path right next to the chalet runs through Giustino and safely connects the towns of the valley from Carisolo to Tione. It’s the perfect way to explore villages, picnic areas, farms and scenic viewpoints, always surrounded by nature.

Pinzolo and Campiglio? You can reach them without a car!

Want to visit Pinzolo for a walk, dinner or an event? You can reach it on foot with a short stroll, or in just a few minutes by bus or the free summer shuttles.
Madonna di Campiglio is also connected by a convenient public transport service, or it can be reached by bike following scenic routes suitable for hikers.

A different way to experience the mountains

Choosing a car-free holiday doesn’t mean giving up comfort, but discovering a more authentic and sustainable way to experience the mountains. At Casa al Campo, every day can begin without turning on an engine, but with the right pace: slow, mindful and in harmony with nature.
